Overall, it looks decent with a sophisticated closed back design and feels more expensive than a simple matte black plastic headband and plush ear pads. You’ll find they fit nicely over your ears and are lightweight enough to be pretty comfortable.
Despite the plastic and materials used, the build itself is better than you might expect, and you have to give it to Panasonic for giving it an extra-long 6 and 1/2 for audio cord.
However, it’s not the most robust of threads, but a bonus. If you don’t want to deal with cables and prefer Bluetooth headphones, then check for the MPow 059 coming up next in this list, that works wired and wirelessly.
The one area you’ll be impressed with is the audio performance of the Panasonic RP-HT161-K.
The dual 30mm neodymium driver delivers quite a wide frequency, which is more than decent for this price range. It doesn’t come close to high-end pairs’ performance, but they do pack a surprisingly good punch for the price.
The sound quality is evident with acceptably well-balanced bass, mids, and highs. Watching movies and listening to music is more than satisfied with the vocals coming through to be enjoyable.
However, for gaming, you’ll find the soundstage isn’t there, and the big bangs and explosions don’t get too immersive.
Why Panasonic RP-HT161-K
